This afternoon, March 30, 2020, Dyer Mayor Chris Younger issued Executive Order recognizing that a state of emergency continues to exist within the City of Dyer and directing that certain actions be taken including:
- Parks and public facilities will continue to be closed pursuant to Executive Order 2020-001.
- Utility disconnects for non-payment are suspended until April 14, 2020 to provide relief for some families during this time and to encourage compliance with Governor Bill Lee’s “Safer At Home” executive order issued on March 30.
This executive order did not renew the provisions of Executive Order 2020-002 mandating business restrictions since Governor Lee’s executive orders issued March 30 include provisions to close non-essential businesses (see Lee’s orders linked below).
Mayor Younger said, “I encourage everyone to heed Governor Lee’s request and realize that you are safer at home. Please minimize travel to only the essentials. Avoid large groups, and maintain social distancing when you must go out. We are all in this together and the better we can follow the guidelines the sooner this will be over.”
